I love my Grilled Onion Salad. It’s really good, but there is a difference between good food and pretty food.
After we recently posted the recipe, I looked at the page. “ACK!” It looked terrible. I had put the charred onions into a plain white bowl on top of a black countertop and sprinkled some lemon thyme leaves in a cluster in the middle. If I had been a PrettyFood visitor and had just stumbled across the recipe, I wouldn’t be inclined to want to make it because it didn’t look appetizing.
Back to the kitchen. Same salad, but this time I used only red onions, rather than a mix, and I chose wisely when I plated it, choosing colors that would set it.
