- Four strips of Bacon
- 1 bag steamable green beans (or about 6 cups fresh)
- 1/4 cup sliced or slivered almonds.
Place the bacon into a cold skillet. Cook over medium heat until the first side releases easily from the pan, then flip it and do the same on the other side, continuing to flip untilk the bacon is nice and crisp. Steam your green beans (either according to package directions, if in a bag, or your regular way, if not in a bag). Add the almonds to the pan of bacon near the end of the bacon cooking period. Segregate them off to the side a bit.
Remove the bacon from the skillet and drain on paper towels. Slice into thin strips with your kitchen shears. Sautee the almonds just until slightly browned in the bacon grease.
Top your beautiful beans neatly with the almonds (drained on a paper towel first!) and the bacon strips.
