Add a little fun to the dining table! With two plates per table setting, preferably two white ones, with one slightly smaller than the other, what do you have? The makings of a snowman!
This plaid snowman table setting may very well be the easiest snowman table setting ever! Each one will have just two plates. There is a vertically-oriented placemat underneath each one for a little contrast and to eliminate possible clashing with other items on the table
We brought out the Christmas flatware for this one. Note how it is placed. The handles face out. The reason we did that is to show more of the cool handles. Try it both ways with your flatware to see what looks best to you.
I had some cloth napkins that were plaid that I could use for the hat s(to go so nicely with the bow tie!) so I wanted a solid color dinner napkin to act as the brim of the snowman’s stovepipe hat. A green glass provides a nice pop of color in the upper part of the table setting.
Then we turn to chocolate. A chocolate mustache lollypop, then a chocolate drop for the nose. The stick for holding the mustache and the bow tie needed to be concealed, so I put striped straws on either side, then tamped them down with chocolate “buttons” down the front.
Play, play, play. I found it interesting that this snowman looked so different from the one up higher on the page. The biggest part of the difference (other than the fact that the other setting has a placemat and this one doesn’t) is that in this picture, the hat is straight up, while in the other, it’s tilted. It’s interesting how much more fun the tilted hat snowman appears to be!
