QUESTION: I’ve been asked to bring deviled eggs to a small dinner party a friend is having. My eggs will be great, but I’d really like them to look “special.” Any suggestions?
ANSWER: Obviously, a pretty deviled egg platter is helpful. If you don’t have one, it’s hard to keep the eggs from rolling around, but you could probably accomplish the task with a long narrow serving dish. One suggestion is to vary the garnishes you’re using for the eggs. (See 12 Ways to Make Deviled Eggs Pretty).
In the photo above, I garnished half the eggs with Hungarian paprika and the other half with minced parsley, then I alternated them around the dish.
If you want the presentation to truly be stunning, lay out some basil leaves in the center, then top with a yellow flower. In the picture below, I used a yellow protea cut off at its base. Exotic and stunning!
