Absolutely adorable, these moss-covered handbag-shaped vases provide a unique way to display spring flowers.
One of the previous owners of our house planted a row of different varieties of peonies in a raised bed in our backyard. Last year, due to the wacky weather, the peonies were duds, but this year they were back and better than ever. There were enough blooms to share with friends and family.
First step, cut the flowers. That is a task best done very early in the morning. (I’m not sure if it’s because you’re trying to cut them while they’re still asleep, or what, but I know it’s important.) Gather the flowers, gather the vases.
The vases are evidently created on a wire frame. They’re easy to bend and stretch so that it’s possible to get the handles out of the way and create a large enough opening to work in. I just read that you can also use them as a planter, and one gal hung hers on a door after planting. I’m going to have so much fun with these!
Obviously, my “arrangements” simply consisted of a selection of peonies and the greenery therefrom. I’m no rocket scientist when it comes to blasting into floral space, but the arrangements were a big hit with my mom, our realtor, and cousin Becky, and I sure enjoyed the one I made for here.
I was so pleased with the way they turned out. Perfect for indoors or out — I enjoyed mine as a centerpiece on our outdoor patio table. You can order them from Solutions.com. They come in sets of 3, so thrill a friend or two by sharing!
