Don’t you love this flower arrangement? This was a gift from the ladies, prepared by Crown Heights Florist. It really makes the table top. I waited to put it on until after dinner, however, because I wanted a shorter arrangement that we could talk across for during dinner.
Congratulations to Erin Tyler, winner of Pretty Food’s Halloween Basket Giveaway! It was chock full of treats.
From Halloween-themed spatulas, cookie cutters, dish towels, spreaders, cupcake liners, potholders, to silicone jack-o-lantern baking pan and a permanent carved pumpkin, the Pretty Food Halloween Gift Basket giveaway was SPOOKTACULAR!
My friend Lee, who works in the floral department at Whole Foods, made this arrangement. I think it is incredible. See the white thing in front? That’s an ornamental cabbage, looking like a rose! The rust colored callas, the bright gerber daisies, the brilliant choice of greenery — I loved it!
Two fantastic appetizers — cheese stuffed mushrooms and butternut squash bruschetta.
The table was set with Halloween colors. A flower arrangement in a large gourd laying on its side pulled the look together.
The meal itself was simple, but tasty. Roasted asparagus, George’s meat lasagna, salad, and fresh berries.
Happy Halloween!
