My fellow foodies, keep in mind that your Christmas table need not be confined to red and kelly green. As this table illustrates, you have options.
The table is colored with a lace tablecloth. There are lime green sheer runners used not as runners, but as the equivalent of long, continuous placemats down each side of the table beneath each of the plates. The fabric was a bit diaphonous, which is lovely.
Our color theme is fuschia and lime green. A little impish, don’t you think?
Two plates: white on bottom, lime green on top.
On top of the plate is a little felt stocking. I would love to know what it was made for. It’s too small to hang from the mantle. If I were a kid and my parents tried to give it to me as a Christmas stocking, I’m sure I would wonder how bad I had been during the yar. But for a unique napkin holder, it is just perfect! The stark white napkin ballooning out really shows off the little holder.
The fuschia goblet ties well with the color of the felt stocking.
And do you love the jeweled flatware? It must be washed by hand, but it is totally worth it to bring on the bling.
The lime green sequined spiral was intended for a Christmas tree, but I got them for the table instead and they add a nice final touch. You might see what’s on your tree that could do double duty.
We have so many more to show you, but this is Christmas Table #1!
