Orange tablescape? Oh, yeah! The color orange has been enjoying great popularity and I couldn’t be happier. It means that finding bright, happy items for the table is easier than ever. Here, we combine it with lilac for a surprisingly pleasing combo.
The inspiration here was a set of lunch-sized plates and bowls from Pier 1 that featured orange and lilac on a white background.
In setting this table, I wanted to pull in both colors, but make orange a little more dominant.
The placemats were key. Large and boldly orange, they anchored the table. My large salad was was also orange, as was the vase and the stemware.
I have a service for twelve of all the pieces of the retired lilac color of Fiestaware. It looks great in so many different combinations, but I particularly liked the dinner plates underneath the patterned white, orange, lilac dishes.
I plopped some lavender tulips into the orange vase. Since there were just three of us for the meal, I put the spare salad plate under the vase to help pull everything together.
Yes, I own lavender silverware, and I’m always looking for an occasion to use it. Matching napkins completed the tablescape. Fabulous!
