This store-bought chicken salad seemed convenient, but it actually tasted pretty wretched. No problem. I pulled out some handy flavor enhancers: a packet of Splenda, two stalks of celery, and some curry powder. I also rounded up some apple and pecans for garnish and a little more flavor.
Chopping the celery took just a few seconds. I dumped the deli chicken salad into a bowl, added the chopped celery, sprinkled in the Splenda and curry powder and stirred well. I heaped the finished product onto a pretty plate, then julienned a small amount of Gala apple for the top and sprinkled on about a teaspoon of chopped pecan. That took it from “Ick” to “Yum,” both visually and tastewise.
