More Ideas for Desserts
Elegant Birthday Cakes I love the look of these! Take your favorite cupcake and icing recipes (or do store-bought, if you prefer). Remove the cupcakes from their wrappers and place into a clean paper cupcake liner. Fold the liner out, so it is stretched away from the cupcake, then line the cupcake with fresh rose petals. Here, I used sterling silver roses, which are lavender. I candied the violets by brushing them with beaten egg whites and sprinkling on Splenda that I had run through the food processor to make superfine. (You can use superfine sugar instead.) I allowed them to dry thoroughly on a cookie rack. Imagine — you could use this same idea with any color of rose petal and any edible flower garnish.

Pumpkin Layers Mini Desserts Sweeten a little cream cheese and add a dollop of cream. Toast some pecans or walnuts in a little melted butter and toss them with just a bit of Splenda or sugar (or brown sugar). Open a can of pumpkin puree and add sweetener and Pumpkin Pie Spice to taste. Last, but not least, have your whipped cream dispenser handy. Then, just make your layers. Nut mixture, then sweetened cream cheese, pumpkin mixture, topped with whipped cream and nuts.

Lemon Citrus Ice Cream
Lemon Citrus Ice Cream Use our basic Creamy Vanilla Ice Cream recipe, but add zest of one lemon (reserving some to use for garnish), 1 tsp. lemon extract, and 2 Tbsp. lemon juice to create a sunburst flavor.
