Oh, that microwave!
However did it get to look like that? How many times did you take one look and want to just open a window and throw it out?! Food is not only crusted on the rotating plate, but on the sides, ceiling and door. YIKES! Did you say “clean” – you must be joking.
Never fear, Mary Beth is here.
This is a really easy thing to do, and I haven’t lost my mind. You will be amazed.
First get out some nice, cleanness-itself smelling lemons. Cut them in quarters. How many? Oh, maybe one or two. Put them in a microwave-safe dish. I used a quart measuring cup. Add 2-3 cups of water.
Put the dish with the lemons and water in the microwave. Don’t cover it. Set the microwave for 2-3 minutes, and press Start. The mixture should boil, creating steam all over – except not on you. When the bell rings, open the microwave and just wipe the steamed walls, door, ceiling with a paper towel. Notice, I did not say scrub.
Do it again?
If for some unknown reason you have allowed your microwave to get really gross and ucky, just repeat the process.
Stay tuned for the next lesson!
