“Greetings, Earthlings!
I am
EMPRESS

from the
PLANET CHEESE!”

When I read that actress Nia Vardalos (My Big Fat Greek Wedding) lost a whopping forty pounds by “breaking up with cheese,” I briefly contemplated foregoing milk-based food products.
VERY briefly. Perhaps a nanosecond or two. Maybe not that long.
I am a cheese trollop and I don’t want my romance with cheese to ever end. My sweethearts are gouda and pecorino. Cheddar and mozarella are my steadies. Brie and goat cheese are my loves. Gorgonzola, parmesan, edam, asiago, bleu, fontina, camembert, gruyere, and cream cheese — my heavens, it’s the most versatile ingredient known to man. (Much more versatile than soybeans, although you’ve gotta give ’em props. But I digress…) And I’m not even going to tell you about my recently acquired manchego fetish.
Yes, I’ll just be absolutely frank about it. It’s better to be fat than to live in a world without these cheesey lovelies.
You look fabulous, Nia, but I’m going to keep riding the “I love cheese train,” thank you very much.
Cheese Ideas
Caramelized Brie with Strawberries
Ooey, gooey goodness, ready in two minutes from when you begin preparation. How’s that for fast, elegant, easy?
Cheese Chips When you heat cheese, and allow it to melt, and turn a little crunchy, and you have the added benefit of the incredible aroma, you see why we love cheese chips, and there are two ways to make them.
Parmesan Popcorn
Can you tell I’m a fan of crunchy cheesy food? The addition of a few sprinkles of parmesan cheese kicks this ordinary snack to a new level.
