Celebrate an engagement, a marriage, or an anniversary with a classic white-on-white tablescape.
Love is a beautiful thing, and the table you set to celebrate it should be, too. When I think of marriage and engagements, white naturally comes to mind, as does sterling flatware and napkin rings and crystal and beautiful flowers. I wanted a bit of an old-world look, so I used vintage plates, rather than new, along with Hawkes crystal and some heirloom silver.
Notice the layering. I have a tablecloth, but I also have crewel work placemats for each place setting.
See how the floral arrangement is low so dinner guests can see over it easily? That means it can stay on the dining table during the meal, rather than it needing to be whisked away to a side table.
All we need now is that chilled bottle of champagne and some champagne flutes!
