- 10 slices of bacon
- 1/4 cup Brown Sugar or Splenda Brown Sugar blend
- 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 1/2 teaspoon ground mustard
- Cayenne pepper
Preheat oven to 350°. Mix the sugar and spices and rub them into both sides of the bacon slices. Hold each slice of bacon by the two ends. Gently twist the bacon slice before placing it on the cookie sheet. Repeat with the remaining slices. Bake for 25 to 30 min., or until bacon reaches the desired doneness.
I found the bacon continued to crisp up as it cooled over the course of a few minutes after it was removed from the oven. Be sure to loosen the bacon from the pan with a spatula immediately after removing it from the oven to prevent sticking. It’s like meat candy!
