Ingredients:
The only ingredients that are pretty much mandatory for these incredibly quick and delicious pizzas cooked in an air fryer are l) the tortillas (I use Mission-brand low carb), 2) olive oil, and 3) Italian cheeses. Everything else is a matter of personal taste. Here are a few of the ingredients I commonly use when I make them:
- Pizza sauce (or even straight tomato paste, spiced up with some Italian seasoning)
- Alfredo sauce (if I want a white pizza, rather than one with a tomato sauce)
- Italian sausage
- Pepperoni
- Red onion
- Mushrooms
- Fresh tomatoes
- Diced or sliced peppers of all types
- Canadian Bacon
- Prosciutto
- Diced broccoli
- Sliced zucchini or yellow squash
- Thinly sliced figs
- Cooked chicken, shredded
- Pesto
- Fresh basil
Directions:
Preheat your air fryer to 400 degrees. Brush the tortillaslightly with olive oil. Put down a thin layer of cheese on top of the olive oil. Add sauce — tomato or alfredo — and additional toppings — being careful not to get too thick. Add cheese on top.
Take the air fryer basket out. Hold the tortilla pizza gently on two sides (at the 10 and 3 position). Place it down into the preheated air fryer basket and place the basket into the air fryer. Set the timer for 5 minutes, but take a look after 4 minutes, because (depending upon your toppings), it might be done at 4 minutes, rather than 5. Add more cooking time if necessary.
The crust is crispy. The toppings are just what you wanted, and the whole meal is quick, quick, quick!
